How much can you earn as a Virtual Assistant?

Someone asked me about Virtual Assistant earnings on my FB Page a week ago. Below is his question.

How much can you earn as a Virtual Assistant?

Napanood ko po yung interview nyo w/ Sir Jomar and it truly inspired me to start the VA career;

Although I haven't joined pero tingin ko mukhang mganda nga sya;

By the way, may question po pla ako sa inyo. Like most VA's, ngwo2rk din po ako sa call center and had reached the point na gusto ko nang bitiwan yung career na ito. Ask ko lang po kung worth it po ba tlga yung job as a VA?

and secondly, if I may ask, how much po ang potential earnings as VA on a monthly basis? Kasi plan ko po na gawin muna toh as part-time then kung maging ok, saka ko plang bi2tawan ung work ko sa call center.

Thanks po in advance and more power!

I have talked a little about my Virtual Assistant earnings on my interview with my mentor here.

My answer is...

Your Virtual Assistant earnings would depend on how much you want to earn. It all depends on you. You dictate how much you want to be paid because you are running your own Virtual Assistant business.

There are also a lot of online articles discussing about how much you should pay Filipino Virtual Assistants. However, I do not agree with most of them. Why? Because most of these articles say that you should pay Filipino Virtual Assistants a meager 3USD per hour.

I would not be able to live the lifestyle that I want with the 3USD per hour rate. That is just so low and unfair to me.

As a Virtual Assistant, you should charge based on your skills. And since this is we are living in a Globalized economy, you should base your pay on International rates too. So if you will research about Virtual Assistant rates, it would be best if you check international pay rates.

Here is a good website to check on -

My Story...

I got my first online job as a Virtual Assistant last August 2015. My rate then was 6 USD per hour. That was my first job and I did not have any experience whatsoever in being a Virtual Assistant.

My task then was to monitor tweets and then replying to those which met my client's criteria. I worked around 4 hours per day then, which was around 1,080 Php per day and that was 4,860 Php per week (10% Upwork fee deducted).

Now my minimum rate for new clients is 15 USD per hour.

How can I charge that high?

I show them that I am an expert in my field. I take a lot of trainings to improve myself as a Virtual Assistant. Right now, I am taking Jomar Hilario's Second Income course where he teaches us about Affiliate Marketing and Online Marketing.

I am also taking trainings from Wealthy Affiliate which is an international community. Their trainings are great and they teach about finding your niche and how you can grow your online business through SEO, Online Marketing and Social Media Marketing, and more! The people there are great too and they answer all the questions I have. 🙂

How do I show them my expertise?

I have this website. Most of my clients check my website first before contacting me. I position myself as a WordPress and Sales Funnel Expert.

I use WordPress for this website and I also have a Marketing Funnel on it. This shows them that I know what I am talking about. It also shows them that I have the skills to implement the same thing for their business too.

How about you? Do you have a website where you show your expertise? If not, then you can check out Interserver for your website hosting.
